Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to the CLIP app (the "Application") for mobile devices, created by Youssef Elseifi (the "Service Provider") as a commercial service. By downloading or using the Application, you agree to these terms.
Intellectual Property
Unauthorized copying, modification, or distribution of the Application or any part of it is strictly prohibited. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider.
Bets, Stakes, and Payouts
CLIP allows users to create personal accountability bets ("Clips") backed by real money. By creating or participating in a Clip, you agree to the following:
- Stakes are held via Stripe until the bet end date. They are non-refundable once a bet is created.
- If you meet your goal and your judge approves, your stake is credited back to your in-app balance.
- If you fail to meet your goal, the stake is paid to your designated judge.
- The Service Provider does not issue refunds under any circumstances.
- In-app balances are credits that can be used for future bets or withdrawn via Stripe Connect. They are not bank deposits and are not FDIC-insured.
Judge Responsibility
Judges are designated by the bet creator and are responsible for reviewing submitted proof and rendering a final verdict. Judges should act honestly and in good faith. The Service Provider is not liable for disputes arising from judge decisions.
Proof Submission
Submitting false proof, manipulated photos, or dishonest honor check-ins constitutes a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension. GPS location data attached to proof photos is stored securely and visible only to you and your judge.
Withdrawals
Withdrawals require completing Stripe Connect identity verification (KYC). The Service Provider is not responsible for delays caused by Stripe's verification process. Withdrawal availability depends on Stripe's terms of service.
AI Features
The Application incorporates AI technologies to assist with bet creation. By using these features, you acknowledge that AI may process text you provide. The Service Provider ensures all AI usage complies with applicable laws.
Security and Device Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and your account. The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your device, which may compromise security and cause the Application to malfunction.
Internet Connectivity
Some features require an active internet connection. The Service Provider is not responsible for Application limitations due to lack of Wi-Fi access or exhausted data allowances. Standard data rates from your mobile provider may apply.
Limitation of Liability
The Service Provider accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, arising from your use of the Application. Bet outcomes are determined by judges designated by users — the Service Provider does not intervene in or override judge decisions.
Updates and Termination
The Service Provider may update the Application at any time. You agree to accept updates to continue using the Application. The Service Provider may terminate the Application or your access at any time. Upon termination, your rights to use the Application end immediately.
Changes to These Terms
The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms. Changes are effective when posted to this page. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
